In the lab in shedds state-of-the-art environmental quality lab, eq technicians and an army of skilled volunteers are responsible for monitoring the aquariums most basic resource, its 5 million gallons of fresh and salt water.. When i turned 18 in september 2013, i made another change; i switched my volunteer focus to science and moved to shedds water quality lab. since then, i have been working every week with shedd staff members to test aquarium water samples, ensuring the health and well-being of the animals..
